Boreal men post a record of 1-2 at Humber hockey tournament
by Randy Pascal
The competition could not have been much better as the Collège Boréal Vipères men's hockey team travelled south to attend the 2018 Humber
North Extramural Hockey Tournament, joining eleven other schools from across the province (Canadore, UTSC, George Brown, Centennial, Humber Lakeshore,
UTM, Durham, Humber North, WLU Brantford, Lakehead Orillia and Seneca).
The locals bolted their way out of the starting blocks, picking up a 3-1 win over the Centennial Colts in their opening encounter in the three
team pool, but fell back to .500 following a 5-1 loss at the hands of the Seneca Sting the next morning.
The quarter-final match-up was a tough one, as the Vipères dropped a 4-1 decision to Humber North, who would follow suit by losing 1-0, in a
shootout, to the tournament championship team from George Brown College in Toronto.
The 2018-2019 edition of the Boréal men's hockey team includes Eric Rainville, Raphael Ramsay, Sebastien Despatie, Kaleb Legault, Pierre-André
Leblanc, Mathieu Fraser, Mika David, Chad Robert, Stephen Lefaive, Félix Bernard, Jason Rouleau, Jacy Fillion, Mathew Allard, Patrice Filion,
Jesse Casonato, Nicholas Dubé, Derek Mageau and coaches Joel Glaude and Alex Gagnon.
