The Nickel City Aquatics had reason to celebrate recently, with representatives at the Swim Ontario Festival reaching some impressive targets and increasing the crew that attended provincials last weekend.
Racing in Etobicoke last month, Keegan Lepage (13) competed in six different races, registering a pair of personal best times, as well as a top-10 finish in the 400m freestyle.
That would be enough to allow Lepage to hit the standard required to attend the Ontario Junior Youth Championships, a meet that will see him join clubmates Matt Clapham and Tommaso Deni in Markham.
A first time Festival qualifier, Dorothy Dong (10) swam to a personal best time in four different events, as well as clocking a new Festival qualifying time in the 100m breaststroke.
Finally, Lainna Munro (11) continued to show progress, heading home with a new PB under her belt as well, this one in the 200m breaststroke.
