The Sudbury District Hockey Officials Association wrapped up the 2014-2015 season at their monthly meeting on Sunday morning, taking advantage of the opportunity to recognize for individuals for the on-ice performance.
Local minor hockey mainstay Mike Blanchard was recognized as the "Most Dedicated Official", a worthy tribute to the retired Cambrian College employee who seldom arrives at the rink without a smile on his face.
Laurentian University student and Lo-Ellen Park graduate Brock Sutton was honoured as "Most Improved Official", with newcomer Rick Wyman recognized as the "Top First Year Official".
Fresh off his appearance at the 2015 All-Ontario Bantam "AAA" Hockey Championships in Timmins, Capreol native Yvon Clouthier was awarded the "Most Promising Official" plaque.
Also a student at Laurentian University, Clouthier enjoyed the opportunity at Provincials to work as a linesman in the gold medal game.
