Timberwolves score five times in the third period

The SMHA Timberwolves scored five third period goals in a span of less than six minutes, overcoming a 1-0 second period deficit to upend the Sudbury 80's Red Wings 5-2 in NEHL (Northeast Houseleague Hockey) Peewee action on Saturday in Coniston.

The balanced attack for the winners featured goals by Hailey Kroft, William Maki, Emmett Taillefer, David Pigozzo and Shelby Saucier, with Andrew prince netting both tallies in a losing cause for the Red Wings.

In a second Peewee encounter, the Sudbury Lakers pulled away from the Sudbury Peewee "C" Lady Wolves, scoring three times in the final five minutes in posting a 6-0 win.

Kevin Osolnik led the way with a hat-trick, with Keenan Rocca chipping in with a two-goal effort. Daniel Wickenden rounded out the scoring for the winners, while Steven Kotab turned aside all 21 shots he faced in posting the shutout.

In Bantam play, the SMHA 80's Red Wings exploded for eight goals in the second period, bouncing Valley East Urban Windows 12-3. Kolt Gour-Boyd showed the way with four goals for the Red Wings, with Joey Ross, Ryan Coventry and Hunter Hykin chipping in with two apiece.

Dillon Reynen and Braedan Boissoneau capped the offense, while Chad Breton, with two, and Isaiah Barrett countered in a losing cause.

Finally, in a girls peewee houseleague matchup, Bailey Gaudin scored in both the first and third period, bookending a solo marker from Miranda Gray in the middle stanza as the North Stars tripled the Bruins 3-1.

Natasha Robson managed to solve North Stars netminder Dylann Aikia, breaking the shutout for the Bruins. Minor hockey action will break on both December 31st and January 1st, will play resuming on Thursday, January 2nd.
