An unexpected offensive explosion has allowed the Rayside-Balfour Pre-Novice Wildcats to improve their season record to 3-2, following a recent 11-1 win.
Connor Blackburn, Sebastien Drouin and Jacob Lamoureux scored three goals apiece for the winners, with Jacob Larocque and Benjamin Lukoff adding solo markers.
Despite enjoying a relatively quiet game, goaltender Nathaniel Guillemette came up big, when needed, suiting up between the posts for the very first time.
"Our little players always try their hardest, and we try and make a point to make sure they have as much fun as possible, win or lose, while learning the fundamentals of hockey," noted team representative Richard Larocque.
The team is back in action this weekend as the Rayside-Balfour Minor Hockey Association plays host to their annual houseleague tournament, with groups from across northern Ontario on hand.
