Curling can be a game of inches. Even at the elementary school level, it would seem.

The 14th Annual Rainbow Elementary School Curling Championships were hosted last weekend at the Sudbury Curling Club and when the dust settled after four draws of play, nothing had been settled.

Rinks from both Little Current Public School and MacLeod Public School not only matched each other with identical 4-0 records, but also finished dead even with 57 points apiece.

Breaking the tie, as per current curling precedent, came down to the skills competition and it was the Manitoulin islanders who would unseat the three-time defending champs.

Third place went to Ecole Publique Macdonald-Cartier, with the quartet from St Paul Catholic School securing fourth as a total of 13 teams took part in the event.
