The Sudbury District Secondary Schools Athletic Association (SDSSAA) will be offering a pair of upcoming clinics for hockey scorekeepers and timekeepers.

Having scorekept at four sets of Olympic Winter Games (2010; 2018; 2022; 2026), Randy Pascal will be hosting a beginners clinic on both (Sunday) October 4th at Minnow Lake Place (1127 Bancroft Drice) as well as on (Monday) October 5th at Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School (Lecture Room 319).

Both beginners clinics will run for 90 minutes (6:30 - 8:00 p.m.) and are devoted to brand new timekeepers, with a heavy emphasis on understanding how to handle all of the functions of the Harris scoreboard, as well as understanding the data entry required to complete the Spordle scorekeeping application now being utilized at almost all levels of minor hockey in the NOHA.

Immediately following the beginners session, 60-90 minutes are being set aside for experienced scorekeepers to gather for an open discussion both on Spordle (as there remains a great deal of confusion regarding the new system), as well as allowing for some time to go over situations of multiple penalties, majors, misconducts and game misconducts, as well as rule variances that exist between leagues.

Prior to attending these clinics, it is important that all prospective timekeepers check with their local minor hockey association to ensure that their group is still in search of more timekeepers for the 2026-2027 hockey season as it appears that some groups are currently adding newcomers to a waiting list.
