The Sudbury U18 BB Lady Wolves twice found themselves squarely in the eye of the Hericanes at the 2026 North Halton Fall Showcase last weekend. Safely navigating their way through those two games, the locals emerged as tournament champions, stringing together six straight wins along the way.

Their toughest adversary may have been the Norfolk Hericanes, though the Lady Wolves doubled them 6-3 in their opening encounter on route to a 3-0-0 preliminary round record.

The Sudbury girls tightened things up defensively in games two and three, blanking the Windsor Wildcats 5-0 and trumping the Stratford Aces 4-1. The team continued to look strong in quarter-final play as tallies from Gabby Cholette, Jo-Jo Ajueze and Dalia Belanger provided ample support for goaltender Amelie Gervais, who recorded the shutout.

A semi-final rematch with Norfolk produced a vastly different game from the tournament ice-breaker as netminder Keanna Navarro made a goal from Violet Simon stand up as the game-winner in a 1-0 nail-biter.

With that drama behind them, the local U18 BB girls made quick work of the Mississauga Hurricanes, bouncing their southern foe 3-0 on the strength of goals from Carrington Parise, Jo-Jo Ajueze and Alexandra Baker, with Gervais making it three straight games with no goals allowed between the pipes.

"The girls competed hard all weekend, bonded together and worked as a team," said coach Glen Favot. "There was a great team atmosphere throughout the tournament. I was proud of the effort, their play and the way they represented Sudbury on and off the ice."

The balance of the team is made up of Emma Mourre, Eva Haraschuk, Evelyn Joly, Karlie Shea, Lauren Bouchard, Michaela Cole, Naomi Gobeil, Paige Taylor and Valérie Prevost.

Joining head coach Glen Favot on the team staff are assistant coaches Eric Parise, Mike Cole and Dave Simon, goalie coach Eric Navarro, team manager Kristin Bouchard and trainer Shannon Lafortune.
