With perhaps as few as less than half of the lineup that will take to the ice in their OHL 2026-2027 home opener this Friday dressed Saturday afternoon in Newmarket, the Sudbury Wolves closed out their pre-season slate with a 4-3 loss at the hands of the Kingston Frontenacs.

Kingston jumped on the Wolves early, scoring twice in the opening 3:38 as both Brody Cook and Aleks Kulemin managed to solve starting netminder Paolo Frasca. Sudbury would pull even before the end of the frame as Kingston Harris and Parker Smith bulged the twine less than four minutes apart.

The Frontenacs netted the only goal of the middle stanza courtesy of Alex Misiak and would increase the lead to 4-2 at 13:19 of the third when Tanner Nettleton scored with his team short-handed - though Genc Ula got that one back 19 seconds later with Sudbury still on the power play.

Kingston outshot Sudbury 27-25 with Owen Leonard coming on in relief of Frasca to play the final twenty minutes between the pipes.

With some of the players who were invited to NHL Prospects camps expected to be back in town, in addition to recently acquired #3 overall pick Tanner Adams, the Wolves will hit the ice opposite the Peterborough Petes this Friday night, facing the Barrie Colts the next night on the road.
