Wolves roll to 6-2 win in North Bay
2026-09-07

On the heels of a pair of relatively tame pre-season encounters, the Sudbury Wolves found themselves facing a more truculent affair Sunday afternoon, battling the northern rival North Bay Battalion on the road.

Of course, part of that truculence may have been due to some understandable frustration for the homeside as the Wolves built up a 5-0 lead after two periods of play, picking up their third exhibition game win in four outings, 6-2 over the Battalion.

J-C Lemieux netted a pair of goals to pace the Sudbury attack with Rowan Henderson, Parker Smith, Kingston Harris and Brayden Bennett chipping in with one marker apiece as the Wolves outshot the Battalion 39-32.

Ryder Carey and Nolan Laird replied in a losing cause, both in the final 12 minutes of a game that featured a pair of fights as well as a pair of misconducts, the latter both doled out to North Bay participants.

Paolo Frasca went the distance between the pipes for Sudbury, with Owen Loftus doing the same for the Battalion. Finishing the contest with multiple points for the Wolves were JC Lemieux (2G), Brayden Bennett (G+A), Parker Smith (G+A) and Colton Colby (2A).

The Wolves have two pre-season games remaining, at home on Friday to take on the Soo Greyhounds and off to Newmarket the next day to face the Kingston Frontenacs before opening regular season play at home on Friday September 18th opposite the Peterborough Petes.
