Staring at a crazy stretch of games in rapid succession, the Sudbury Cyclones (OPL1) received a little bit of unexpected breathing room last week - ironically in large part because trying to find quality breathable air was next to impossible in the province of Ontario recently.

A schedule home game against Vaughan SC (July 15th) as well as a road outing opposite Burlington SC (July 18th) were both postponed due to poor air quality caused by the ongoing wildfires across northern Ontario.

Makeup dates for both matches are expected to be announced soon. In the meantime, the Cyclones will continue their push to avoid relegation, taking their 3-10-1 record into a critical battle with the Simcoe County Rovers (1-13-1) on Wednesday July 22nd.

The Sudbury lads currently trail Burlington SC by five points, with International FC two points ahead of them. The Cyclones have eight games remaining to try and make up the differential in order to remain in OPL1 (Ontario Premier League1), the division of play that head coach Giuseppe Politi feels strongly is the appropriate level of competition for his team.
