The Sudbury U13 Rockhounds will be looking to build on an encouraging 3-1 performance, capturing the "B" Championship at the Six Nations Confederacy Tournament last month as they welcome the Barrie Bombers to the Garson Arena for a three-game exhibition set this coming weekend.
The Rockhounds opened tournament play in May with a 9-3 win over the host Six Nations Chiefs, were dealt a 6-1 loss at the hands of the Strathroy Screaming Eagles but closed out the event with victories over the Gloucester Griffins (11-2) and the Akwesasne Storm (5-3).
The Sudbury offense was powered by the likes of Grayson Colton (7 goals), Laughlin Hagen(5) and Adam Bain (3), with Daxton Wabano, Justin Gouin and Ashton Willoughby netting two goals each and Kai Elliott-Ross, Bo Michelutti, Rudy Bazzard, Jimmy Simpson and Etien Viau capping things off with solo tallies.
The team was backstopped by the goaltending tandem of Oliver Clarke and Jack Wilson, with Noah Vallée, Aiden Trudeau, Deandre Nebenionquit-Chenier, Nwaabdasse Trudeau, Benjamin Hepting and Owen Kunto rounding out the roster.
The team staff features head coach Peter Michelutti Jr, assistant coaches Shaun Bazzard and Mike Wilson, trainer Matt Colton, with Jordan Hepting, Dan Gouin and David Withers also lending a helping hand.
