NCA Masters quartet right in the middle of larger clubs at provincials
2026-05-03

Apparently, it is both the young and the young at heart who are representing the Nickel City Aquatics quite well these days.

Led by a three medal performance from Erin Ethelston, the NCA Masters quartet that also features Johanna Westby, Jennifer Abols and Carol Mourré managed to outscore many a deeper team at the Provincial Championships in Etobicoke last month, placing 19th of the 36 clubs which entered women's teams.

Ethleston earned bronze in the 50m backstroke, 100m freestyle and 400m individual medley, also placing fifth in both the 100m butterfly and the 100m individual medley.

Westby squeezed in a pair of new personal best times as part of a troika of results that included a fourth place showing in the 400m individual medley and sixth in the 50m backstroke (+ a PB in the 200m breaststroke).

Abols was fifth in the 50m backstroke in her age bracket and 6th in the 50m breaststroke with Mourré matching that final showing (6th in 50m breast) in her particular grouping as well.

Additionally, the Sudbury foursome combined to near a few extra points in the relay thanks to the 4 X 100 metre medley (4th) and the 4 X 50m freestyle (5th).
