A depleted roster would require a change of formation but the outcome remained unchanged as the GSSC (Greater Sudbury Soccer Club) U16 Impact boys remained unbeaten in PISL (Provincial Indoor Soccer League) action last weekend in Toronto.
A switch to a 3-5-2 was executed seamlessly by the local lands, posting a 3-0 win over Thornhill with Xander Millett playing wing back as though it was his home all winter long.
Corvyn Forest recorded the soccer equivalent of a Gordie Howe hat trick, thanks to a stat line that featured a goal, an assist and a yellow card.
Nathan Estriplet and Ilyas Sambo rounded out the scoring in support of another clean sheet for keeper Sebastian Gonzalez, with the back three of Waylan Croome, Liam Muldoon and Logan Anderson near flawless in making his job a little easier.
A hat trick from Nathan Estriplet the next day cleared the way to a Sudbury sweep as the Impact bounced the Bradford Eagles by a final count of 4-1.
Ilyas Sambo also hit the mark for the GSSC reps who received standout contributions from Domadius Aziz, Alonso Silva, Diego Larios, Xander Millet and Quentin Hallock, the latter still rounding his way into full game form.
