The NOHA (Northern Ontario Hockey Association) announced the 20-man roster that will represent the association at the 2026 OHL Cup in North York (March 30th to April 4th), and with more than half of the team being proud products of the Sudbury U16 AAA Wolves, one can be sure that local fans will be paying attention to their success.
Head coach Peter Michelutti Jr heads up a crew that will make use of forwards Felix Sapay, Nicholas Christakos, Alex Proulx, Ty Belanger, Lennox Therrien, Jackson Mead, defensemen Malik Jakubo, Tayden Smith, Brayden Baronette and Bradley Huffman and goaltender Noah Jylha, all of whom toiled for coach Jason Young and the local U16 entry that competed in the Great North U18 AAA League this year.
Rounding out the forward lineup are Reed Sauve, Seth Verbiwski, Aiden Duchesne and Trey Bigelow from the North Bay Trappers as well as Ben McKinlay and Rocco Dos Reis from Sault Ste Marie.
The blueline brigade welcomes the Soo Greyhounds pairing of Logan Watson and Bryson Palahnuk while Lock City puckstopper Phoenix Bell partners with Jylha to form the last line of defense.
Joining Peter Michelutti Jr on the team staff are assistant coaches Steve Polyblank and Tommy Vlahos, goaltending coach Brian Kment and head trainer Dave Losier.
Michelutti has indicated that Team NOHA plans to travel to the GTA on the weekend of March 28th and 29th, contesting an exhibition game in preparation for the round robin schedule. The full 25-team field and the schedule has yet to be announced.
