Tracy Fleury and the balance of Team Homan will not be returning home from the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy empty handed.
Though the two-time defending world champions fell slightly short of their ultimate goal of advancing and capturing the gold medal encounter in Milano-Cortina, the Canadian representatives did manage to secure bronze thanks to a 10-7 win over Tabitha Peterson of the United States.
The contest was a back and forth affair through five ends, with USA up 3-2 heading to the break and neither team converting for more than a single point per end.
Rachel Homan and her team of Tracy Fleury, Emma Miskew and Sarah Wilkes opened things up with three in the sixth, though Peterson would counter with a deuce in seven leaving the contest knotted at 5-5.
Again, Canada came up big with another score of three in eight and after the U.S. took two with the hammer in nine, Homan and company followed suit in the tenth and final end, finishing third in the field of ten teams.
After compiling two of the all-time greatest seasons in women's curling in 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, Team Homan struggled to truly hit their stride in Italy, beating Denmark 10-4 in their opening game but dropping three straight, all by a single point, putting their playoff hopes in serious jeopardy.
A string of four straight victories to close out round robin play was enough to slide the team into a semi-final battle with Anna Hasselborg and the Swedish gold medal winning team, the latter doubling Team Canada 6-3 before edging Switzerland 6-5 in the gold medal affair.
