With two OBL (Ontario Basketball League) weekends already under their belt, the GSBA Sudbury U16 Storm Girls would love to add one more two-game sweep to their 3-1 record to date come January 24th in Unionville.

Travelling to the same location at the end of November, the locals opened play with a 38-27 win over the Midland Waves but were beaten 47-31 by the North Bay Spartans later in the day.

Two weekends later, the nickel city girls added another pair of wins to their resume, though the second one come by way of a forfeit (the Huntsville Hurricanes were unable to make it to Mono) following a 47-16 triumph over the Kirkland Lake Swampdonkeys (easily the best nickname in the OBL!).

Weekend #3 will likely see the U16 Storm facing the Blitz Girls from Hamilton in one of their games, though the schedule has not yet been posted on-line.

The 2025-2026 Sudbury U16 Storm Girls team is, as follows: Nahla Abdinasir, Kennedy Nelles, Sophie Loiselle, Evie Drozdowsky, Clara Coulas, Asyah Dockery, Sophie Roy, Allyson Ouimet, Megane Dillon, Kyra Lefebvre and head coach Ghislain Roy.
