2025-12-22

The Sudbury U14 Jam girls have opened their 2025-2026 JUEL (Junior Elite) basketball season in style, reeling off three straight wins as they now look to their second weekend of play at the end of January in Etobicoke.

With five different players hitting double digits, the Jam trounced Windsor St Clair 99-33 as Kallie Smith (20), Emma DeMarchi (15), Peyton Tessier (15), Molly Filica (11) and Allie Vaillancourt (10) all got in on the act.

Game two was a bit closer, with Filica netting 18 points in an 87-48 win over YNBA (York North Basketball Association). Malika Grenon (16), Smith (13), DeMarchi (11) and Tessier (11) were back at it as Sudbury improved to 2-0.

The closest encounter saw the Jam bounce the Halton Region 82-57 as Tessier and Smith combined for 45 points, with DeMarchi and Grenon not all that far off the pace at 17 and 12 respectively.

Rounding out the Sudbury Jam roster are Iman-Dapea N'Gota, Taniah Venkadesan, Kendra Nebenionquit, Sierra Kitchikake, Elicia Bihina, Azizah Abiola, Annakah Kruk and Katie Oberthier.
