Sudbury Five roster rounding into shape
2025-12-18

Sudbury Five signings are now almost a daily occurrence, with three more players added to the fold this week.

After putting pen to paper earlier this month in bringing aboard 6'6' guard Hank Morgan (Caldwell, NJ), 6'6" forward Cecil Lee (Kansas City, Missouri) and BSL (Basketball Super League) veteran and defensive standout Jaquan Lightfoot (Brooklyn, NY), the Five went right back to work this week.

On Monday, former University of South Carolina Gamecocks' dunk-master Keyshawn Bryant committed to the defending league champs, the 6'6" 25 year-old coming off a recent stint with the Niagara River Lions of the CEBL.

On Tuesday, 6'8" forward Emmett Duvall opted to make the move north after suiting up with the Jamestown Jackals during the 2024-2025 campaign. In 30 games, he averaged 6.8 points/game and just under five rebounds a game, hitting a high of 21 points last January versus the KW Titans.

Later in the day, the Five signed Torontonian and former OUA all-star Mike Okafor, a member of the Lakehead Thunderwolves during the 2022-2023 season. A 6'5" guard, Okafor has seen action in the CEBL (Hamilton Honey Badgers) as well as in Africa and Kazakhstan.

Finally, the team welcomed a very familiar face to the coaching staff with the return of Five alumnus and graduate of both Collège Notre-Dame and Laurentian University Georges Serresse to the staff.

A former head coach with the L.U. men's team, Serresse is jumping aboard as an assistant coach, having devoted his time most recently to private basketball skill development sessions with local youth.

The Five will open the 2025-2026 season at home on (Monday) December 29th, hosting the Lake Erie Jackals as they hoist a championship banner to the rafters.
