Cubs offense in high gear in November
2025-11-21

The Greater Sudbury Cubs are clicking, especially offensively, in recent times.

A 10-1 win over the Iroquois Falls Storm Thursday at the Gerry McCrory Sports Complex bumped their two game aggregate from the past week to 19-2.

In fact, in five of their six games in the month of November, the two-time defending league champions have actually netted six goals or more.

Doing much of the damage in the most recent affair were Owen King (3G + 2A) and Mason Walker (2G + 2A), with defenceman Tyson Rismond bumping his stats up nicely with three assists in the game.

Alex Valade added a pair of goals, with solo tallies coming courtesy of Jacob Signoretti, Spencer Horgan and newcomer Briir Long.

Simon Lemieux foiled the shutout bid of Sudbury netminder Matthew Vahramian, scoring on a pretty individual effort as the latter finished the evening with 13 saves to his credit.

Not surprisingly, Virgil Sausset Plateaux was much busier at the other end, turning aside no less than 33 of the 43 shots that he faced.

The Cubs will close out this month with four straight road games, facing the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners on Saturday before heading off to meet up with Hearst, Iroquois Falls and Timmins in a northern trek next weekend.
