An end of September two game road trip allowed the Cambrian Shield to get the monkey off their collective backs, recording their first two victories of 2025 with wins over the Loyalist Lancers and the George Brown Huskies.
Lauren Kennedy and Elliott Delaney vaulted Cambrian to a 2-0 lead Saturday in Belleville while a 61st minute strike from Molly Watson stood as the game winner as the Shield slipped past the Lancers, 3-2.
Jennifer Keller and Jetayah Casselman replied for Loyalist, who now trail Cambrian with a record of 1-4-1.
The Shield bumped their mark to 2-5-0 thanks to a 2-0 shutout of the Huskies the next day as Olivia Skinkle picked up the first clean sheet of her OCAA career.
Offensive support came courtesy of Lauren Kennedy, who finished with a weekend hat-trick thanks to a two-goal effort in Toronto.
Kennedy and her teammates are back in action at home this coming weekend, welcoming both the Durham Lords (Friday) and the Fleming Phoenix (Saturday) to Sudbury.
