Lady Wolves with mixed results in Oshawa
2025-09-30

There was definitely a graduated rate of success as a trio of Sudbury Lady Wolves' team made their way to the Oshawa Lady Generals Fall Classic Tournament earlier this month.

Topping the charts were the U18 A Lady Wolves who posted a 2-1-1 record in Pool B play before knocking off, in succession, the Ayr Rockets (6-2 in QF), the Kanata Rangers (2-0 in SF) and the Scarborough Sharks (#841) (3-0 in final).

Coach Glen Favot and company toppled the second Scarborough Sharks team (#829) in game one (3-1) but dropped a 1-0 decision to the remaining Sharks in game two.

A 0-0 tie versus the Toronto-Leaside Wildcats gave way to a 3-1 win over the Markham-Stouffville Stars as the Sudbury girls made it through to the final eight in a field of 16 teams.

The 2025-2026 Sudbury U18 A Lady Wolves roster features Izzy Lanteigne, Bella Perry, Michaela Cole, Carrington Parise, Dalia Belanger, Ella Gatien, Kahlan Judd, Makayla Paris, Ryann Morris, Berkley Pitura, Addison Gibbs, Bella Massimiliano, Jojo Ajueze, Rowan Frood, Emma Mourre, Leah Murphy and Leila Barsanti.

The Sudbury U15 A Lady Wolves came ever so close to also advancing to the playoffs, closing out round robin play at 3-1-0 but falling short on the tie-breaker to the Oshawa Lady Generals and Kanata Rangers.

The Wolves bolted from the gates, thumping the Hamilton Hawks (6-1) and continued to pile up the goals in victories over the Scarborough Sharks (6-4) and Kanata Rangers (5-3).

Unfortunately, a game four 1-0 loss to the Lady Generals was all that it would take to remove the northern girls from the final four.

The final Sudbury team to take part had a tough go of it as the U11 A Lady Wolves lost three straight, keeping it close with the Owen Sound Ice Hawks (5-3 loss) but beaten handily by the goal medal winning Napanee Crunch in a semi-final showdown.
