Senior football week three recap
2025-09-29

If the Confederation Chargers are the least bit uncomfortable about having a target clearly on their backs, they are most certainly not showing it.

The projected top team in the SDSSAA Senior Football League rang up their third consecutive lopsided win, bouncing the Lo-Ellen Park Knights 35-7 in a rematch of the 2024 city final.

Evan Doyle and Mason McLaughlin scored two touchdowns apiece, Owen Blay added another and Domadius Aziz chipped in with five converts as the Chargers overpowered the Knights who answered only with a Jack Centis major (converted by Quin Mazzuchin).

The St Benedict Bears moved into a second place tie with the Knights at 2-1, defeating the St Charles College Cardinals 33-3 behind a nicely balanced attack.

Dylan Bertin (2 TDs), Dylan Nelson, Lukas Coufal and Keegan Adair all reached the end zone for St Ben's as Mateo Bedoya capped off the scoring with three PATs.

The Cardinals countered with simply a field goal from Alessandro Moretta as they remain in search of their first win of the year.

The remaining matchup from week three would see the Lively Hawks squeeze past the Lasalle Lancers by a final score of 18-15.

Cameron MacIntosh (TD/FG/2XPAT/S) and Alex Campbell (TD) tackled all of the offense for Lively while the Lancers answered with a quartet: Ethan Dobson (TD), Ryder Kirby (TD), Lamar Bailey (safety) and Colton Cooke (PAT).
