Sixty-five Sudbury Wolves' hopefuls took to the ice Tuesday at the Old Barn on Elgin Street.

By Saturday morning, that number was cut almost in half, with 34 still remaining on hand (4 goalies / 11 defensemen / 19 forwards).

And for as much as the final scores of scrimmages don't necesarily count for a whole lot at this time of year, there was no lack of drama, with games decided in overtime and shootouts along the way.

Even the annual Blue & White encounter went down to the wire as Vladimir Provorov scored with just over six minutes to play and Colton Colby iced the contest with an empty-netter as White doubled Blue 4-2.

Daniel Berehowsky and Patrick Ula also found the back of the net for the winners while Alex Pharand and Henry Doucet countered in a losing cause.

All four netminders still in camp saw action, with Finn Marshall and Owen Leonard backstopping White to the win while Jason Tremblay and Karsen Chartier combined to make 29 saves, as White outshot Blue 33-30.

A fourth round pick in the 2025 OHL Entry Draft, Owen Leonard was signed by the team following the game, joining Toronto U16 AAA Titans' teammate Brayden Bennett (Wolves first round pick) in the fold.

The Wolves made 21 cuts on Wednesday, with the only scrimmage on Thursday featuring penalty shots, in the end, as Green edged Gold 3-2. Matt Gilmore was the only one of the six shooters who managed to solve goaltenders Mateo Beites and Colton Rhéaume.

Green had built up a 2-0 lead heading to the third courtesy of markers from Matt Gilmore and Blake Clayton, with Gold storming back as Rowan Henderson and Daniel Berehowsky hit the mark.
