A new season of NOJHL Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League calls for a something of a new look.

Earlier this week, the 11-team loop unveiled a new league logo prepared by Timmins-born illustrator and graphic designer Paul Ainsworth, he himself an alumnus of the NOJHL, suiting up with the Timmins Golden Bears back in the nineties.

"Leagues such as the NOJHL are continually evolving, on and off the ice, and the first-rate graphics of the new league logo will aid us in that pursuit," said commissioner Robert Mazzuca.

"Our brand remains one of the areas the NOJHL board and each of our member clubs frequently looks at in ways to improve and we believe we've accomplished that in this area, with the new logo," Mazzuca added.

The new logo features a colour scheme of multiple blues, grey, white and red, prepared by a northern product who has worked with the likes of Coca-Cola, Marvel Studios, Canadian Tire as well as with several other hockey teams.

NOJHL pre-season play begins in the coming days, with the regular season set to commence on September 11th and the annual NOJHL Showcase to take place roughly a month later (October 7-8th) at the Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex in Sudbury.
