Like most events at the recent 2025 Ontario 55+ Summer Games, the tennis competitions featured a small mix of local entries with a whole slew of out of two talent.
In all, some 60 tennis enthusiasts competed at either the Sudbury Indoor Tennis Centre (SITC) or the James Jerome Sports Complex, with all players having participated in qualifying tournaments in their home districts.
The breakdown of divisions featured women's, men's and mixed brackets, with age groupings of 55+, 65+ and 70+ hosting some 70 matches of tennis in a two-day span.
While participants experienced their fair share of aches and pains, there were no serious injuries to be reported, with event organizers understandably relieved. Additionally, the administrative crew led by Neil Lind extended a huge thanks to the dozen volunteers who assisted with the Games tennis venue, offering their congratulations to local champions and new friends from across the province.
