Just over a week after picking up a split decision win over Alessandro Currie of Italy in the feature fight of the 35th Anniversary Top Glove Boxing Academy card at the Caruso Club, local light heavyweight Jackson Savoie (80kg) was back in action at nationals in Quebec City.

Savoie defeated Asher Softic from Alberta in his semi-final bout, with the westerner seeded second in this weight class heading into the 2025 U17, U19, U21 Championships in La Belle Province.

In the end, the 15 year-old grade nine student at Sudbury Secondary School would fall victim to favourite Josue Kouie from Québec, settling for silver.
