Cyclones return with a vengence in the middle of next month
2025-03-30

With a promotion to League1 Championship play secured for this summer, the Sudbury Cyclones top men's team has unveiled the roster that will open regular season play on the road on April 18th, doing battle with York United Academy.

Along with a key returning core that includes strikers Timi Aliu and Jaiden Santo, midfielders Cedric Devos, Nico Patenaude and Chanley Francois, defenders Jaden Timmis and Rohan Henry and keeper Lucas Cicade, the Cyclones are also welcoming former OUA all-star goaltender and perennial Laurentian team MVP Connor Vande Weghe to the fold.

Vande Weghe is but one of a small handful of locals who cracked the roster, including second year wingback Brandon Moxam and newcomer and St Charles College graduate Blake Rosener.

Rounding out the 2025 roster that will start the season are:

Centre Backs: Cody Vaillancourt, Dante Valdes, Isaac Ajani, Isaiah Noel

Wingbacks: Gianni Bordieri, Nana Wiafe-Owusu, Samuel Henriques

Midfielders: Maceo Harrison, Mohammad "Musa" Joof, Joseph Martin

Strikers: Caelan Walraven, Josh Vivero

The encounter on April 18th will actually mark the second time that Sudbury and York United will go head to head this month as the teams prepare to meet on Sunday, April 13th for League1 Cup play in the GTA.
