The Sudbury U15 "BB" Lady Wolves picked up their second championship banner in as many attempts, improving to 11-0-1 in tournament play as the North Bay Junior Lakers Tournament welcomed girls hockey houseleague and rep teams from across the province to town, including a handful of squads from Sudbury.

With every player on the roster recording at least one point and goaltender Abigail Ouimet racking up three shutouts (including a 3-0 triumph in the final over the Whitby Wolves), the Sudbury girls kept things rolling on a weekend that featured a 2-1 round robin win over Whitby as well as a 1-1 draw with the East Ottawa Stars.

The Lady Wolves started with a very familiar opponent, blanking the North Bay Junior Lakers 2-0 on the strength of goals from Alexie Miller and Melody Lavergne and a solid effort between the pipes from Abigail Ouimet.

The latter would extend her shutout streak to a pair of encounters as Sudbury silenced the Ottawa Valley Thunder 2-0 with Maya Croskery and Alexie Miller handling the offense for the winners.

In their first crack at the southern Ontario namesakes, the Lady Wolves rode tallies from Alexie Miller and Eva Haraschuk to a 2-1 win over the Whitby Wolves, rounding out preliminary round action with a tie against East Ottawa as Grace Demers found the back of the net for the SDGHA crew.

The semi-final turned out to be a wide open affair, at least based on the standards from the earlier encounters as Sudbury doubled the Ottawa Valley Thunder 4-2, powered to victory by a two-goal effort from Mila Kidd.

Alexie Miller and Eva Haraschuk rounded out the offense with the former potting her fifth and six goals of the weekend, joined on the scoresheet by Ella Gatien in the gold medal affair as Abigail Ouimet slammed the door in net for Sudbury.

The balance of the Sudbury U15 "BB" Lady Wolves roster is Ava Cloutier, Lauren Bois, Quinn Houle, Brooklyn Mininni, Evelyn Joly, Kayleigh Crew, Presley Brennan, Hailee Losier-Paradis, Penelope Ouimet and netminder Sofia Mallozzi, with the latter two sidelined due to injuries.

"Every player stepped up, embraced our systems, and executed their roles with precision, showing a real understanding of smart, strategic hockey," noted head coach Rob Mininni.
