The Sudbury U15 AA Lady Wolves are not going to be content with simply being competitive with the provincial elite this year.
Given the depth of the 2024-2025 version of the team and the early season showings, this is a crew that is targetting a medal at the OWHA Provincials come next April in Toronto.
The U15 AA girls made that statement and then some at the Etobicoke Exhibition Showcase on the weekend, sweeping three games by a combined score of 11-1.
Playing her first game in this age bracket, U15 minor sensation Ella Sabourin very quickly made her presence felt, firing a hat trick as Sudbury defeated the Markham-Stouffville Stars 5-1 in their opening affair.
Sadie Frantz and May Corson also found the back of the net for head coach Eric Navarro and company.
From there, it was defensive domination as netminder Kloe Rienguette shut the door in game two, a 2-0 win over the Barrie Sharks with Ella Sabourin and Sophie Gauld pulling the trigger for the locals.
Gauld was right back in the middle of things in the finale, netting a pair of goals with Sadie Frantz and May Corson adding one each in a 4-0 whitewashing of the Bluewater Hawks.
Splitting the goaltending duties to close off the weekend, Kloe Rienguette shared the shutout with Keanna Navarro.
The Sudbury U15 AA Lady Wolves are back in action with a two game exhibition set against the Soo Jr Greyhounds on September 14th before heading off the following weekend to take part in the Stoney Creek U15 AA Showcase.
