The year-end awards banquet provided one last opportunity for the NOJHL champion Greater Sudbury Cubs to celebrate a truly remarkable season - and celebrate they did.
With a handful of players who are not likely to be part of the 2024-2025 Cubs' roster leading the way, the team doled out 11 different commemorative plaques to the worthy recipients.
Leading the way was captain and four year franchise veteran Oliver Smith as the 21 year-old native of Lively walked away as a three-time winner, recognized as Team MVP, Best Two-Way Forward and Top Scorer.
The remaining hardware was spread out between eight different athletes, including co-captain Cameron Walker (Leadership Award), stalwart netminder Noah Metivier (Playoff MVP) and key blueline acquisition, Josh Kavanagh (Best Defenceman).
