The Sudbury U11 A Wolves - Blue were on the wrong side of a tight one-goal affair in the Nickel District Minor Hockey League final this past Sunday.
Last month at a tournament in Nottawasaga / Innisfil, the locals felt the elation of a very close win in a big game.
Deadlocked at 1-1 in the semi-final opposite the North Bay Trappers, the Wolves benefitted from a very nifty saucer pass from Jaxon Dubois to Caleb Seguin, who made no mistake as Sudbury (1-2-0) upset the top seed after round round play (North Bay - 3-0-0).
The Wolves opened play with a 5-4 win over the Avenue Road Ducks, but lost 4-1 to the Porcupine Jr Gold Kings and 7-0 to the Lambton Shore Predators.
Facing the Preds in the final, the northern lads kept it closer the second time around, but still had trouble finding the back of the net, blanked 4-0 by the tournament champs.
