The Sudbury U11 B Lady Wolves needed just one practice run at tournament play this year in order to figure out exactly how to climb their way right to the top of that mountain.

After settling for silver medals at the Niagara Rapids Fall Classic in September, the local crew took the next step last weekend in Collingwood, posting an undefeated 5-0 record and knocking off the Orillia Hawks 4-1 in the final.

The Lady Wolves had battled their way through round robin play, posting victories over the Collingwood Lightning (5-1), the Orillia Hawks (6-3), the Peterborough Ice Kats (9-0) and the Etobicoke Dolphins (5-0).

Come the rematch with the Hawks, the Sudbury squad was paced by a two-goal effort from Rocklyn Paquette, with Mia Barriault and Athena Carriere adding one goal apiece.

The championship affair would see goaltenders Lily Haraschuk and Abby Pellerin sharing the duties, with the former maintaining a clean slate while the latter was beaten just once in helping to backstop their team to victory.

The U11 B Lady Wolves now sport a season record 16-9-2 overall as they continue to strive to be ready for the OWHA Provincials in April.

The balance of the Sudbury roster gathers: Lucy Marsh, Scarlett Marshall, Norah Albiani, Ava Fraser, Arianne Salem, Gianna Lanteigne, Vivienne Michelutti, Bryer Coates, Adalyn Hryciw, Bristol Recollet, Annabelle Jodouin, Averly Larche and head coach Peter Michelutti Jr.
