Chill TLS teams terrific at in town volleyball tournament
2023-11-26

Under the revised guidelines of play within the Ontario Volleyball Association, the TLS (Traditional Limited-Specialized – formerly U14) division does not award medals at their single day tournaments.

Still, one has to think that when your teams post a combined record of 8-0 at a recent event in Sudbury, that coaches, players and fans of the Northern Chill Heat Wave and Northern Chill Blue Wave would be wearing awfully big smiles by the end of the day.

The Heat Wave ran the table with victories over the Barrie Elites Empire (25-17, 25-23), the Orillia Suns Fire (25-20, 25-14), the Caspian Eagles from Newmarket (25-15, 25-9) and the Altitude Landslide from Collingwood (25-7, 25-9).

The Blue Wave, for their part, strung together wins over the North Bay Lakers Vortex (23-25, 25-9, 15-10), the Vision Sharks from North Bay (17-25, 25-10, 15-5), the Caspian Eagles (25-14, 25-14) and the Altitude Landslide (25-16, 23-25, 15-2).

The 2023-2024 edition of the Northern Chill Heat Wave includes Julia Moulaison, Kaiyah Hasner, Morgan Gauvreau, Maya Chretien, Danika Drolet, Hailey Villeneuve, Brinley Evans, Kylie Breau, Alexie Houle, Naima Bella Tverdal, Sara Labelle, Luella Circelli, head coach Jason Radley, assistant coach James Gauvreau and team manager Heather Evans.

Meanwhile, head coach Melanie Pelletier and assistant coach Aaron Battistoni will lead the Blue Wave team of Sovia Borota Thompson, Zoe Doucet, Aviahna Cocchiola, Selena Chiblow, Lisa Ngouabe, Mariama Jalloh, Jillian Martin, Olivia Cormier, Avery O’Brien, Ella Kolari, Brooklynn Ferguson and Nora Hoy-Riehl into action, with Lee-Ann Ferguson serving as team manager.

The Chill TLS teams are back in action on (Saturday) December 16th, participating in tournament action in Barrie (Heat Wave) and North Bay (Blue Wave).
