Savannah Swords lights it up vs the USA - keeping up with Syla
2023-06-25
Making her official commitment to the Michigan Wolverines about a month ago and fresh off a week of training with the national women’s basketball team in Toronto, 17 year-old Syla Swords may have secured much of the family spotlight recently.
But it was younger sister Savannah that netted a team high 22 points as Canada settled for silver medals at the FIBA U16 Women’s Americas Championships in Mexico this week following a 79-59 setback at the hands of the United States.
Both girls will be suiting up with the LuHi Crusaders (Long Island Lutheran Middle & High-School) in New York again next winter, the team making it all the way to the national championship game last year before losing to Montverde Academy from Florida.
