There were some very nice individual results for the Sudbury Laurentian Swim Club contingent at the recent MAC (Markham Aquatic Club) Spring Invitational meet, but it was in the relays where the locals shone most brightly, securing a gold medal in the process.

Capturing the Male 12 & Under 400 Free relay was the foursome of Jack Smith, Daxton Hester, Callum Duncan and Hudson Green, with that same crew also picking up silver medals in the 200 Medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay.

With a few extra years of training under their belts, the combination of Adan Lindfield, Ethan Handy, Alexandre Landry and James Bertrim also hit the podum, earning bronze in the Male 15 & Over 200 freestyle relay and placing fourth in the 200 medley relay.

Touching the wall first in the Male 11-12 800m freestyle and both the 100m/200m butterfly was Jack Smith, throwing in a silver medal performance in the 400m freestyle distance for good measure.

Teammate Hudson Green also enjoyed a competition to remember, earning three silvers (800m freestyle; 200m breaststroke; 200m butterfly) and an equal number of bronze coloured awards (400m freestyle; 400m individual medley; 100m butterfly).

Daxton Hester (Male 11-12 - 2nd in 100m butterfly; 3rd in 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly) and Alexandre Landry (Male 15 & Over - 1st in 50m breaststroke - 29.61; 1st in 200m breaststroke - 2:24.20) also contrbuted nicely to the overall point count.

Lockerby Composite senior James Bertrim ranked in the top eight in virtually every event, his best finishes coming in the 200m breaststroke (bronze) and 200m freestyle (5th).

Other noteworthy results came courtesy of both Callum Duncan (bronze - 50m breaststroke) and Ethan Handy (4th - 800m freestyle), with the SLSC delegation rounded out with the following swimmers: Matthew Abbott, Lauren Buchowski, Sky Delorme, Ewan Duncan, Blake Gough, Jacob Guillet, Elizabeth Makela, Lara Makela, Noah Rioux, Ivy Schulte-Hostedde, Gabby Serafini, Grace Thomas and Jordan Waterman.
