As the old saying goes: "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em".

Members of the Sudbury Junior Badminton Club often found themselves looking up at representatives at KTP Racquet Club from North Bay at the recent NOBA Junior Badminton Tournament hosted at St Benedict Catholic Secondary School in Sudbury.

In fact, the two instances where Sudbury athletes managed to mount the top rung of the podium were both on doubles' teams, with members of KTP as their partners as Gillian Obradovich teamed up with U19 girls singles champion Olivia Popp from KTP to claim the girls doubles event in the same age class, while Theo Lefebvre of Sudbury partnered with Lillian Li (KTP) to win the U18 mixed doubles competition.

Local second place finishers included Maxime Coulombe and Simon Hobson (U14 - Boys Doubles), Theo Lefebvre (U16 - Boys Singles), Nyah Robinson (U16 - Girls Singles), Matteo Rocca (U19 - Boys Singles), Matteo Rocca and Sota Saito (U19 - Boys Doubles) and Gillian Obradovich and Sota Saito (U19 - Mixed Doubles).

Capturing bronze while wearing the colours of the SJBC were Matteo Rocca and Alexie Carré from KTP (U19 - Mixed Doubles), Ethan Simon and Thoams Arsenault (U16 - Boys Doubles) and Eric Huang and Ewan Huang (U14 - Boys Doubles).
