OFSAA podium placements more than just Wiss-ful thinking for the Knights
2020-02-28

An individual gold medal performance from Patrick Wiss, team podium finishes across all four categories, and plenty of depth from the high-school non-club skiers helped propel the Lo-Ellen Park Knights to a truly memorable showing at the 2020 OFSAA Nordic Ski Championships in Huntsville.

Wiss would finish first in the Junior Boys open division, with teammates Kaeden Ward (10th) and Kai Nener (12th) both also helping to push the pace for the Knights.

All remaining medals came courtesy of the high-school grouping, let by Meredith Kusnirczyk (SG - gold - 9th overall), Alex Lambert (SB - gold - 10th), Ryan Kettle (JB - bronze - 14th), Amanda Symington (JG - bronze - 16th) and Austin Mashinter (SB - bronze - 14th).

The senior boys tandem of Max Mahaffy and Kendyn Mashinter also showed well, placing in sixth and seventh respectively in the open race, as Lo-Ellen swept the team banners in both junior and senior boys, while sliding in to third in both junior and senior girls divisions.
