One last pre-OUA provincial championship warm-up, as virtually the entire roster of the Laurentian Voyageurs men's cross-country team raced at the Marauder Bayfront Open '19, getting a sneak peek in at which is ostensibly the course for the Ontario showdown next Saturday.

Eric Gareau followed up a first place finish at the Waterloo Don Mills Open Cross-Country Meet in early October by cracking the Bayfront Open all-star team, sliding into 13th place with a time of 24:45 over the 8.2 kilometre course.

Giving chase and donning LU colours were the northern Ontario tandem of Liam Passi (Sudbury - 21st - 25:14) and Keon Wallingford (North Bay - 24th - 25:22), with Chase Canty, Maurice Graenert, Caleb Beland and Dylan Brown all breaking the 27-minute barrier.

As a team, Laurentian (141 pts) settled for fifth place, nestled right in between the University of Toronto Blues (104) and the Waterloo Warriors (183). A much smaller Voyageur women's contingent were led, once again, by veteran Meghan Sippel (61st - 33:18), though rookie Ashley Valentini (69th - 33:56) continues to close the gap nicely.
