The Sudbury District Secondary Schools Athletic Association (SDSSAA) will be offering a pair of clinics for hockey scorekeepers and timekeepers.
On Monday, September 16th (2019), Olympic Winter Games (2010 and 2018) scorekeeper Randy Pascal will be hosting both a beginnersí clinic (6:00 p.m.) and advanced clinic (7:30 p.m.) at Lasalle Secondary School (Lower Library).
The first 90 minutes (6:00 - 7:30 p.m.) will be devoted to brand new timekeepers, with a heavy emphasis on understanding how to handle all of the functions of the Harris scoreboard, as well as the proper completion of scoresheet information.
The second hour will provide an ideal refresher for timekeepers with some experience, getting into the discussion regarding situations of multiple penalties, majors, misconducts and game misconducts, as well as rule variances that exist between leagues.
Some time has also been set aside to discuss the implementation of the on-line scoresheets, the tablet-based scorekeeping format that is being used in the Nickel District Minor Hockey League, Northern Ontario "AAA" Hockey League and the Great North Midget League this winter.
Cost of the clinics is $5 per person, and participants are asked to bring along a pen and scrap paper. Questions regarding the clinic can be sent to email@example.com.
