Minor Peewee Wolves with a winning weekend in Toronto
2019-08-28

The Sudbury Minor Peewee "AAA" Wolves are not about to duck the big boys.

Coach and former Sudbury Wolves' captain Michael MacDonald and his team were in Toronto last weekend for a three game set, racking up a pair of exhibition game victories.

The locals needed one game to acclimatize themselves, dropping the opener 5-3 to the Don Mills Flyers as Charlie Hotles and Nate Burlock scored two goals apiece for the winners.

Mason Walker, with a pair, and Jameson Fabbro replied for the Wolves, who evened the score early the next morning, blanking Don Mills 4-0 behind a shutout performance from Tucker Redner.

Lincoln Lafrance, Mauro Cusinato and Dawson Morris joined Walker on the scoresheet in game two, a contest that featured just seven minor penalties, in total.

The Sudbury crew would hit the road on a positive note, picking up their second win of the day when they doubled the Toronto Nationals 4-2, with Cusinato, Denver Mulligan, Masimo Toffoli and Ashton Pitawanakwat finding the back of the net once each, while Liam Judd added a pair of assists.

The Minor Peewee Wolves don't have to travel nearly as far for their next match-up, heading out to Valley East to face coach Jason Young and the Nickel City Minor Peewee "AAA" Sons Tuesday evening (Sept 3rd) at 6:00 p.m. at Ray Plourde Arena (Confederation).

Rounding out the Sudbury lineup are Domenico Malafarina, Drake Taylor, Jayden Ceming, Kaden Wicklander, Leila Barsanti-May, Liam Kuhn and Matthew Trottier.
