Wennerstrom and high jumpers shine bright at Legion Provincials

A gold medal performance from Kurtis Wennerstrom in the U18 boys triple jump and a one-two sweep in the U18 girls high jump highlighted the weekend for District H at the Royal Canadian Legion Ontario Provincial Track & Field Championships recently.

Wennestrom, who soared 13.89 metres to claim victory, also secured a fourth place finish in the long jump, covering 6.40 metres through the air before settling into the pit.

Meanwhile, the dynamic duo of Annika Jozin from Wawa (1st - 1.70m) and Amy Connelly of Valley East (2nd - 1.65m) walked off with gold and silver respectively, as the Sault Ste Marie - Sudbury - North Bay corridor was limited to just eleven total placements in the top five.
