Led by a gold medal performance from Hector Loiselle (tumbling – L3), the Sudbury Laurels trampoline and tumbling crew enjoyed a very solid showing at the 2019 Provincials in Pickering late last month. Loiselle secured first place with a score of 77.100, maintaining the momentum that he had built up from a first place showing at the third qualifier of the year.
Narrowly missing a top three finish, Brooklyn Lavallee (tumbling – L3) also closed off the season in style, earning a fourth place ribbon with a score of 75.800.
Victoria Baxter (tumbling – L1) met her goal of advancing to the finals, finishing seventh at 81.900, while sister Kylie Baxter (trampoline – L1) missed out on matching that feat by the narrowest of margins, sliding into the 9th placement with her score of 59.845.
Displaying an impressive amount of consistency, Shelby Schwar (tumbling – L1) duplicated, exactly to the hundredth of a point, her performance at the final qualifier of the year, awarded 54.600 points from the judges, good for 11th place.
Finally, Avani Innis (tumbling – L1) will use her appearance at provincials as a learning experience, looking to improve in 2019-2020 from her 17th place showing with a score of 52.500.
