With most of the expected favourites working their way through to divisional championships, it was left to a pair of double overtime battles and a few unlikely surprises to provide the excitement as the Nickel District Hockey League wrapped up Playoff Weekend 2007 for the Novice, Atom and Peewee age classifications.

Among the more gripping dramas played out were the Minor Peewee "B" championship as Nickel Centre's Blake Jones scored early in the second period of overtime to lift the Flyers past the Rayside-Balfour Tigers as well as the Major Peewee "A" championship where Walden's Dylan Lanthier broke a scoreless tie with under five minutes remaining to give the Red Devils a 1-0 win over the Reliable/Pinnacle Sports Minor Peewee "AAA" Wolves.

And while the Copper Cliff Redmen Major Atom powerhouse team did capture the Toe Blake Division as expected, full value goes out to the Valley East Rebels Major Atoms who took the Redmen to double overtime before succumbing 1-0 as Nathan Shane scored the game-winning goal.
