There is little doubt that the Lo-Ellen Park Knights were the class of the SDSSAA senior boys football field in 2023, what with their three-peat and all.
But individually speaking, the top awards were much more widely dispersed - which likely speaks as much to the Knights overall depth of talent, right across the board.
To wit- no less than eight different Lo-Ellen players managed to crack the league all-star teams, led by quarterback and SDSSAA Most Outstanding Player, Steven Sola.
Joining the gun-slinging pivot in earning individual hardware were Liam Hobson of St Charles (Most Valuable Player), Paolo Grossi of St Benedict (Defensive Player of the Year) and the Lively tandem of Owen MacDonald (Offensive Player of the Year) and Owen Willis (Lineman of the Year - for the third straight season).
