Payton Robinson makes the move to Guelph

The Sudbury Wolves have freed up some room along the blueline, shipping 19 year old defenceman Payton Robinson to the Guelph Storm in exchance for Guelph's 6th round pick in 2024.

A 5th round selection at the 2019 OHL Entry Draft, Robinson suited up in 65 games for the local juniors last year, recording a goal and eight assists.

With the veteran back-end core of Jacob Holmes, Andre Anania and recent NHL draftee Nolan Collins expected to return, as well as potentially overage candidate Dylan Robinson, and youngsters Mathew Mania, Joshua Hoover and Will Bishop all looking for more ice time, Robinson was deemed expendable.

The Sudbury Wolves will open training camp on Wednesday, August 31st, playing exhibition games in Sault Ste Marie, Ottawa and Peterborough before hosting their first pre-season game on Tuesday, September 20th, welcoming the Barrie Colts to town.
