The Nickel City U15 AAA Sons and North Bay U15 AAA Trappers went right down to the final buzzer in the first of their two-game set over the weekend in Chelmsford.
Game two, however, was over almost from the moment it started.
On Saturday, a first period goal from the Trappers Ryan Daze proved to be the difference as the teams then exchanged goals in both the second period (Corey Lacroix - Sons; Brant Romaniuk - Trappers) as well as the third (Nico Frattini - Sons; Tyler Brunet - Trappers) in a 3-2 win for the visitors.
Less than 24 hours later, it was the North Bay crew building up leads of 6-1 and 11-1 after the first and second frames, cruising to a 13-1 triumph.
Brunet potted a hat trick to lead the way for the Trappers, with Bryden Shank and Briir Long adding two goals apiece.
Rounding out the offensive outburst were André Mondoux, Jackson Culin, Cohan Paquette, Will Hanselman and Brant Romaniuk, with Anthony Bertrand replying with a lone goal in a losing cause for the Sons.
