And now there are two.
With Cloe Lacasse already part of the Canadian national women's soccer team training camp in Cardiff, coach Bev Cardiff decided to double the nickel city content with the addition of forward Jenna Hellstrom earlier this week.
A graduate of both Lasalle Secondary School and Kent State University, Hellstrom has been suiting up with KIF Orebro in Sweden since early this year.
The 26 year-old already has four caps and was also on the Team Canada roster that took part in the 2019 World Cup in France.
With a couple of seasons in Sweden already under her belt, the all-time leading goal scorer in Kent State University program history returned recently after spending a year or so with the Washington Spirit of the NWSL.
Canada opened a two-game set of friendlies on Friday with a 3-0 win over Wales, with goals coming courtesy of Deanne Rose, Evelyne Viens and Jessie Fleming.
Neither Lacasse nor Hellstrom saw action in the contest, as Priestman and company prepare for a battle with England this coming Tuesday, with both teams beginning to finetune the roster in anticipation of the 2021 Summer Olympics in Japan.
