Week on the Sudbury Five Shooting League is in the books and coach Logan Stutz could not be more pleased.

"I was very impressed with how well the players all shot the ball," noted the native of Kansas City (Missouri), as the local National Basketball League of Canada franchise unveiled some three on three play over the weekend at the Sudbury YMCA.

"It's really fun to get some competition back in the community," added Stutz. "I look forward to next Saturday, seeing all the players compete."

In total, three of the 16 competing squads (three divisions) would post unblemished marks of 2-0, including the U12 Jamwiches trio (Adrian Aho - MVP, Jack O'Connell, Noah Skrobot), with the Shooting Stars and Basket Brawlers one game back at 1-1.

Dylan Nelson netted 50 points, leading the Killer 3s (Nelson - MVP, Sullivan Smith, Judah Brohart) to a pair of victories in U14 action, with the Dribblers (1-0) and Hot Shotz (1-1) hot on their heels.

The high point total on the day would come courtesy of U16/18 sharp-shooter Randy Kneer (72), who partnered with Jordan Guerrette as the Free Agents opened their season with a pair of victories. Team Lewis also remained unbeaten at 1-0, while the Shooting Stars closed the books on a .500 day, finishing with a record of 1-1.

Play resumes this coming Saturday at the Sudbury YMCA.
