Everyone is deadlocked as local fastball playoff series' resume

It looks like the gentlemen are planning to get as much time on the diamonds as they possibly can.

Both the championship and the consolation finals of the Rick MacDonald Fastball League are tied at a game apiece heading into action this week.

In a battle of the big boys, the Bisons would draw first blood, stopping the Atlas Dewatering North Stars 14-9 behind the complete game effort, on the mound, from Rylan Stolar.

Kevin Emiry belted a home run for the winners, with Trevor Cain and Joel Belanger doing likewise for the North Stars, who flipped the script on Thursday, registering a 12-3 victory of their own.

Casey Abitong was back on the mound for the Stars, definitely in fine form, but with loads of offensive support in the form of Jesse St Cyr (2 home runs), Trevor Cain (HR), John Contin (3/4) and Ben Bast (3/4).

The consolation affair would see the Hounds bounce back from a surprising game one loss to the Drillers, pulling even in the best of five affair with a 10-0 whitewashing in game two.

Scott Ropp earned the win for the Hounds, while RMFL veteran John Ainslie was tagged with the loss.

Both series resume Monday evening (September 21st) at the Rick MacDonald Memorial Park in Azilda, with game four for all four teams set for Thursday night, at the same venue, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
